Europe

Every cobblestone street in Europe tells a story – all you have to do is wander far enough to listen

All roads lead to Rome – Alain de Lille

Europe really needs no introduction.

Thinking of famous landmarks, we immediately picture the Colosseum, the Eiffel Tower and Big Ben. Equally, what is more iconic than sipping an Aperol Spritz in the Amalfi Coast or watching the sunset in Santorini?

Superficially, Europe appears as a largely homogeneous place marked by a shared history and common culture. Beyond the surface, each country reveals a strong identity and offers a distinct experience to the curious traveller. The majestic fjords of Norway and the Greek summer getaways couldn’t be more distant from each other. Also, the lyrical beauty of the Ligurian Coast contrasts with Sicily’s boldness, highlighting striking differences even within the same country.

Moving away from the Instagram spots, what really differentiates Europe from the rest of the world, is also the sheer amount of places that are worth visiting. There is such a high concentration in a relatively small territory, and this largely applies to most of the countries within the continent.

But beyond the travel-agent definitions, Europe is the place where we live and largely where we grew up. Having spent the majority of our lives between Italy, Portugal, and lately the UK, we are grateful to have explored these countries extensively and feel privileged to advise fellow travellers willing to do the same. But our thirst for exploration doesn’t stop here. Together we set foot on about 20 European countries and are excited to continue our journey across the continent.

Whether it is the common landmarks, the charming villages, the world-class museums or the undiscovered gems, you are guaranteed to be surrounded by magic (almost) everywhere you go.

Prepare to fall in love with Europe.
